About the Role
We’re looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join Recommand and help us build the Peppol automation platform of the future.
You’ll work across the stack — backend, frontend, APIs, integrations, and devops — to create a robust system for processing structured business documents at scale.
Recommand is a certified Peppol Access Point with a growing open-source ecosystem.
We’re expanding from e-invoicing into full Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay automation using structured documents, integrations, and intelligent processing.
If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, love clean architecture, and want to ship real impact, this role is for you.
What You’ll Work On
-
Backend engineering (TypeScript/Bun)
Build and maintain our core API platform handling Peppol connectivity, validation, pipelines, and integrations. -
Frontend engineering (React)
Build clean, intuitive UIs for customers: dashboards, monitoring tools, document viewers, workflows, and onboarding flows. -
Integrations & connectors
Develop reusable, modular connectors for ERP/WMS systems (Dynamics, Navision, SAP, Exact, custom systems). -
Document processing pipelines
Implement structured document flows (UBL, Peppol BIS) and support document types for O2C and P2P processes. -
AI-assisted workflows
Collaborate on integrating agentic document-processing and anomaly detection features. -
Architecture & scalability
Help design systems that can handle high volumes reliably with low latency and strong security. -
Open-source contributions
Improve and extend our open-source Peppol tools and libraries. -
DevOps & reliability
Work on CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, deployments, and infrastructure improvements.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years experience building production software
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Bun/Node.js
- Experience with React or similar modern frontend frameworks
- Comfortable working with APIs, webhooks, microservices, message queues
- Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar)
- Ability to design clean, maintainable, testable systems
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ownership attitude
- Good communication skills
What We Offer
- Competitive salary with additional benefits
- Hybrid work environment (remote + office days at Corda Campus, Hasselt)
- Work on meaningful, high-impact challenges
- A modern tech stack (TypeScript, Bun, React, Postgres, Docker)
- A product-first culture: we build fast, ship often, and value clean engineering
- Join a small, experienced team where your decisions truly matter
- Open-source friendly (we love contributing and publishing tools)
